Writer and Producer Sharon Letts began her life's work at the age of 24, as a flower gardener in Southern California, under the shingle The Secret Garden - one of her favorite books as a child.

When a local television programming director asked Sharon to produce and host a gardening show, her company name became Secret Garden Productions. Producing visiting gardens series, In and Out of the Garden; airing in Southern California, Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties for three years. Locations included public and private gardens throughout Southern California; including, Catalina Island and the California Desert.

Sharon went on to Executive Produce and Host, Off the Beaten Path, a California travelogue for PBS with a focus on art, food, and wine; with education on conservation and sustainability. The series included a three-part visit to Sonoma County's wine country; and a one-week stay at the historic Dorland Mountain Ranch (then, Dorland Mountain Arts Colony). A remote, off-the-grid artist colony in the hills of Riverside County. Sharon also included a documentary on Kate Sessions, architect of Balboa Park in San Diego; placing First for TV production at the San Diego County Fair.

After working as a Field and Segment producer for documentary and magazine shows in Los Angeles, Sharon was brought up to Humboldt County in Northern California to produce a news show. While working in media in Humboldt she presented with breast cancer, Lobular carcinoma.

Because she was working in the cannabis capitol of the world, Sharon was given a strong cannabis oil made by longtime Southern Humboldt farmer and remedy maker, Pearl Moon of The Bud Sisters. In two and a half months, the oil successfully put the cancer into remission, with only scar tissue remaining; while helping her do away with numerous prescription medications and supplements, changing her life and career forever.

“I’m from the 70s," Sharon explained. "Cannabis has been my medicine for a very long time, I just didn’t know it until I had cancer in my 50s. I support both recreational and medicinal use, but honestly feel, they are one in the same. I like to say, medicate to recreate. Cannabis has become my only medicine. It became my gateway drug to other healing plants. Since ingesting plant-based remedies I've felt better than I have in years on the prescription medications, and I don't think that's a coincidence."

Today, Sharon writes internationally for many publications, with her work translated into several languages (see list of series below). Her focus is on patient profiles, telling the “anecdotal” stories of healing happening globally now with the use of cannabis products.

Coming back to television full-circle, Sharon’s developing documentary, magazine and reality shows on cannabis from the series she’s written. Her books, Cannaopolis and Humboldt Stories (winner 2016 Tokey Awards), with magazine series Toke Stories, have been written into a screenplay for television series, Cannaopolis. Also an e-Book on Amazon.
